Spring is approaching and I’m sure we are all looking forward to the warmer weather and seeing the sun for more then just a few minutes each week. But for now it is still winter and the winter weather is, unfortunately, lingering around. Here are some tips for winter driving to hopefully keep you safe from having to use your MA comprehensive or collision coverage.

1. check road conditions before leaving.
2. start early so you don’t have to hurry
3. watch for black ice on the roads, if it looks slick it usually is
4. remove snow from your roof, hood, bumpers, and lights before starting out.
5. don’t follow other cars too closely; keeping further back from them then normal.
6. replace tires with snow tires for better traction.
7. driving in a lower gear will create better control of your car on icy roads
8. make sure your windshield washer system works well, replace wipers and fluid.
9. keep your cell phone charged in case of emergency
10. keep a winter emergency kit in your car; Just In Case.
