Ah the wonderful signs of spring in Massachusetts; the birds chirping, the sun, (finally) out, the snow melting and of course the MA convertible automobiles out with their tops down!!
There are some beautiful MA road ways to take advantage of this time of year if you like to enjoy the wind through your hair.
Berkshire Hills scenic drive is a beautiful 132 mile loop through Western Massachusetts offering such attractions as Hancock Shaker Village, Monument Mountain Reservation and Great Barrington State Forest, just to name a few. Hancock Shaker Village is a favorite of many kids so feel free to load your family in to the minivan or SUV for this drive.
Cape Cod offers a 63 mile scenic drive perfect for all you Massachusetts convertible automobile lovers. It is one of the better known areas of Massachusetts with 585 miles of shoreline and 310 miles of sand beaches. Some attractions include the Sandwich Historical Museum, Three Sisters Light House, and the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, along with many others.
But my favorite and a favorite to many MA Motorcycle owners is the beautiful drive through the hills of Central Mass over looking Quabbin Reservoir. Quabbin Reservoir has over 38 square miles of water and 119 miles of shoreline. What is now a major source of drinking water in MA was at one time 4 towns that were flooded in the late 30’s to early 40’s. Route 202 offers beautiful scenic overlooks and picturesque views perfect for both the motorcycle lover and convertible lover of Massachusetts.
