How often do you rent a car?

Do you know what coverages on your MA Auto Insurance policy will transfer to the rental car?

Well good news for you the liability coverage, comprehensive, and collision on most MA Auto Insurance policy will all cover the rental car. So if you do cause an accident the damage you cause not only to the rental car but also to what ever you hit will be covered by your MA Auto Insurance Company.

But…..did you know that you are still responsible for the income the rental car company would be getting from that car while it is being fixed?

Most rental car companies do not go over how the coverages they offer as an additional expense work. The income the rental company looses is not covered by your MA Auto Insurance but you can request to purchase one of the rental car companies’ insurance packages to cover that loss.

The best thing to do when renting a car is to first call your agent at Dale Frank Insurance to go over what coverages you have on your MA Auto Insurance Policy for the rental car and then to discuss with the rental company what coverages they offer at an additional fee.
